Supervisor Closing

Responsibilities:
Supervise Closers in obtaining and reviewing title commitments to ensure all exceptions to title will be disposed of in accordance with Astoria Federal's lending guidelines and practices. This includes supervising the preparation of closing documentation and instructions for out-of-state loans and for both in-state and out-of-state home equity loans, as well as EZ Mod loans. Ensure accurate and timely closing documents and instructions are sent to the Settlement Agents. Supervise Closers to ensure that all loan packages contain correct and necessary documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations and Astoria Federal guidelines. Ensure proper reconciliation of fees and all check disbursement on a daily basis. Perform home equity closings as needed. Assist Manager in hiring, training and supervising Closing staff and ensure all closing functions are performed in compliance with all investor, regulatory, legal and company policies and procedures Produce and maintain reports and records for Closing Department as required. Attend meetings to discuss the impact of procedural changes, issues, problems and solutions.

Qualifications:
- 3 years Closing experience in conventional and government residential mortgages preferred;
- 1 – 2 years supervisory experience preferred;
- Paralegal Certificate or Associate’s degree in business preferred;
- Strong figure aptitude and attention to detail required;
- Knowledge of closing practices/ procedures, investor guidelines, loan processing, and mortgage documentation;
- Knowledge of federal, multi-state and investor mortgage policies and regulations, and title review;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Strong PC skills.
